Edit on 7/28/2017-- I had to go back to the doctor for some concerns. I saw a PA I hadn't seen before and I really liked her. She took her time to listen to my problem and made me feel heard. Still up in the air about office staff, but had at least one positive doctor experience. Moved up rating to 2 stars.
The doctor that I seen was very friendly and helpful. The office staff and even the MA's are rude and very non helpful. I will not go back! My insurance paid 100% of all charges, I had zero patient responsibility, yet somehow there is a balance sent to collections. Every time I call, I am transferred from person to person and never get anywhere. I work in a medical office. This is why we have office managers!
I am a new patient even new to this state. My experience with them are horrible. The don't give you full physicals like the should when you are a new patient. They don't get your refill requests in a timely manor. You could die or have very serious effects waiting togrt your medicine. They lie to you about sending your medicine. They change your medicine without knowledge or consultation. The do not listen to what your are say/asking. They speak to you ask if you are a child then want you to respect them. They also talk badly about you when they think you can't hear them. I and my 10yr old daughter heard one of their receptionist say that people like me is the reason that she was glad that they don't have many black people here. Just terrible people and terrible service. I asked for the board of directors info so that I could call and write a letter. They would not give it to me. An they transferred me to a triage nurse pretending she was someone in charge and she even stated that she didn't know why they sent me to her cause she couldn't do anything. Terrible people.
Dr.Zook and staff are great. I love the App and always have a nice visit. I drive from Berea and wouldn’t go anywhere else.
I do not recommend this office. Office staff is unknowledgeable, I have been charged co pays for preventative care, and was not notified about results of routine tests. This is the worst doctor's office I have ever been to.
To add insult to injury the day after my appointment I decided to get what I though initially was a simple cold checked out. I even told both the office manager (who came in my room as per the OB/RN's request) (not sure of exact title, all I know she was not my actual OB) to discuss leave/short term disability, that I was sick. If they would have done one quick look or taken my temp they would have seen that I was running a fever and needed to go to urgent care. Instead I let a fever and strep hang out untreated for an additional 24 hours because they did not care enough to inquire about it. Also found out ST-D can be applied for when a pregnant woman has diabetic complications, especially related to blood sugar regulation. Which I've been having in spades thanks to them.
During my first appointment (8 weeks into pregnancy, 9th pregnancy/no children, miscarried for the 8th time only months prior to getting pregnant) I informed the ob and nurse that I was type 2 diabetic and have several other medical conditions (never saw the same OB twice in 3 visits). I was informed that I did not need to take my metformin or check my blood sugar. I asked about this at a second appointment and informed the OB I saw on that occasion that I was experiencing debilitating cramps, dizziness, feeling faint, my heart felt fluttery and odd, crazy urination (40 plus times a day) and that I couldn't do anything (pretty much bed ridden due to pain and dizziness). They did an ultrasound and said everything looked fine and moved me on my way. A week later I will still expirincing the same symptoms and it had gotten to the point where I was unable to work (I almost blacked out while trying to drive to work) I went to an appointment to see if they would assist with some time off. I laid out my symptoms and asked for time off. I was brow beaten into being told that not only are my symptoms normal but they would not allow for any time off and that I wasn't a high risk pregnancy. They fought with me for almost an hour trying to make the point that they or no other OB would write time off (short term disability or medical leave) for cramping and dizziness. They did not once consider the symptoms I described. After feeling defeated and offended I called the OB I had seen for my previous pregnancies (a high risk ob) and told them what I had expirenced and my symptoms. The high risk OB was shocked! She told me to eat and check my blood sugar (an hour after eating as per the usual for diabetics). I did and it was 198 (130 or under is normal). I googled my symptoms and realized everything I had laid out to them were signs of high blood sugar and blood sugar spikes. I immediately called and canceled my appointments with London Women's. In good conscience, after how I was treated and the fact that they were so concerned with not being held legally liable for writing short term disability or medical leave that they ignored my very real and VERY serious symptoms (they made it seem like nothing I had to say was serious or of any concern because the baby looks heathy) I could not recommend this provider for a high risk pregnancy. The office manager made sure to come in and hone home the point that what I was experiencing was normal and that I was asking for something that was unreasonable. Ok, maybe it would be if the cramping and dizziness were run of the mill...but factor in everything else I was telling them they should have considered ALL of my symptoms. They got fixated on just telling me no over and over. Yes, the health of the baby is of the utmost, but when a patient comes to you two weeks in a row I think a bit of investigation is in order and not just poopooing symptoms. I could have gone into diabetic shock and that wouldn't have been enough of a sign for these people. Don't tell diabetic patients not to check their blood sugar or take medications. I have been bed ridden for weeks now with symptoms that would have been treated by taking my medications, they have put me at risk for my job and the health of myself and my child.
